297 x 210mm; spiral-bound at head. "These original lithographs have been drawn on the plate by Glynn Boyd Harte and printed at the Curwen Studio in an edition of 200 copies". Documentary film-maker and collector extraordinary, Jonathan Gili (1943-2004) was also a quirky small-press publisher who deployed his eye for design not only for books as grand as John Betjeman's Metro-Land (1977, with lithographs by Glynn Boyd Harte) but also for calendars for his sometime school-friend David Game's group of tutorial colleges, founded in 1974. Latterly, he used his own artful photographs; his early calendars deployed a talented team of illustrators. Glynn Boyd Harte (1948-2003) collaborated with Jonathan Gili on numerous projects, from the smallest pamphlet, Murderers' Cottages (1976), to the most wordlessly elegant artists' book, Les Sardines à l'huile (1985). This calendar, much in the style of the latter, is a particularly attractive production: gloves for January, Valentine rock for February, Easter egg for April, June confetti, August bucket and spade, books for September, November fireworks - and a cracker for Christmas.
