True first British printing with original clipped jacket. Illustrated by Stead. All illustrations are present and in very good condition. Jacket has faults - namely edge/shelf wear, a few small (largest approx. 1cm) tears, few marks, patchy creasing/rubbing to edges, small ticks in pen to back to other titles, very small patchy loss (mainly to head/tail of spine and to corners), a few small patches of wear where top (picture) surface has worn away, little crinkling, staining to reverse (white side) where old damp marks exist, patchy browning (including to spine), little creasing/rubbing to front/back inner flaps, a little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine, little pushing/bumping to corners and is in only fair condition. Boards are very good (having been generally well protected by the jacket) with a few old white damp marks, a hint of pushing to corners and minor pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Pages slightly tanned. Old damp mark to lower corner/edge/bottom edge of pages. Very occasional other small marks to pages. No other faults.
