Black and white illustrations, mostly in the text; a few full-page plates. Book publisher's catalogue at rear of each volume. Boards lightly rubbed, more heavily worn along the edges; a couple of small spots; corners bumped; ends of spine fraying. Bookplate on front pastedown of Vol. I; previous owner's initials in pencil on half title page in Vol. II. Pages generally clean, with small marks on just a few pages. Binding generally firm; gutter starting to crack in one place in each volume.
