About this Item

First edition hardcover published by Dodd-Mead, 1946. Mystery written by ruth Fox and Anne Fahrenkopf using the pseudonym Alexander Irving. Doctor Post, anatomy professor, discovers the body of one of his colleagues in the morgue, who could have murdered him? 216 pages, 5-1/4" X 7-1/2". Black cloth covered hardcover. Part of the 'Red Badge Detective' series of novels. Vertical and horizontal crease marks on the front hardcover panel. Corners are bumped inward, worn and exposed at the tips. Dark red lettering on the spine and the Red Badge logo on the front panel are all entirely legible. Bookstore ink stamp on the frontpaste-down page - about 3" X 3/4". Review from a magazine page is pasted to the first flyleaf page, about 3" X 6". No further former ownership marks besides that, no writing on the text pages. Age appropriate tanning to the text paper considering the just post WWII paper used. Binding is tight. Attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory. A very rare volume.
