About this Item

Pale green cloth with red and black illustration and black lettering to front board and spine, and small black decoration to rear. Bumping and rubbing to extremities. Hinges cracking, but secure and complete. Previous owner's inked name on front end paper. Delightful, unattributed colour plate as frontis.A little light spotting throughout. Edition not stated. but undoubtedly a 1869 first. A very scarce first edition by this prolific Victorian children's author.
