The scarce first edition, with only one record of this work having been sold at auction since this first publication.In the original price-clipped dust wrapper.A lesser known work for adults by Richmal Crompton, best known for her beloved 'Just William' series.'Blind Man's Buff' is set in a quiet English village named Ellensdale, this novel following the comings and goings of those living in the village, from a school mistress to a public-spirited Colonel. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Very light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. A couple of small marks to the tail of the spine and rear board. Small bump to the rear board. Dust wrapper is edge worn with some chips and closed tears, heavier to the head of the spine. Ex library copy with associated labels, inserts, stamps and annotations. Pages are heavily tanned and foxed throughout. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces heavily tanned, particularly spine. Slight lean, otherwise very good in somewhat chipped and nicked, good only dust jacket, with loss at lower spine, top front corner and rear lower corner, closed tears and some edge wear. Signedes.
