Apparently unread book is tight & square with previous owners name neatly printed in ink on the top of the ffep. It is a Stated "First Edition" with the Random House complete number line "2 4 6 8 9 7 5 3" on the copyright page as required to be a True Random House First Edition / First printing. There is slight areas of foxing on the top page block edge. The gold printing on the spine of the book is blurred and was obviously a printing error. There is NO remainder mark, which is uncommon for this book. Most copies were sent back to the publisher and remaindered. There were only 5000 First Printings The mylar protected DJ is price-intact . ($17.95) and is in lovely condition.

If what we call "horror" can be seen as including any literature that has dark, horrific subject matter, then Blood Meridian is, in this reviewer's estimation, the best horror novel ever written.
