Original embossed cloth, bevelled edges, dated on title page 1889, corresponds to Quayle 83A(page94). small rubber stamp of Ida Muriel Wright on end paper and top of title page, signature erased from top of title page leaving area a little thinner, original charcoal end papers , minor wear to top of spine and extremes. Better than average copy of this scarce true 1st edition. Octavo. 1889.

We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.…
