Add to basketThe contents of the book are Very Good or better: no previous owner signature, no penciled price, no marks of any kind inside the book: totally pristine. On the other hand, the binding and dust jacket have a serious bit of damage on the upper outer corner of the back of the book. See picture 3 for what they look like together, picture 4 for how they look separately (not nearly as bad). It looks like someone somehow ran over the book with a very small bicycle: despite the black streak, the back cover is all there and as flat as it should be except for the black groove, gouge, or whatever you want to call it. The front of the dust jacket also has a diagonal crease in the upper right area (picture 1) but that is only on the dust jacket: see picture 2 for the undamaged front binding. In sum, maybe I should average out the inside and outside of the book itself and call the condition 'Good' rather than 'Very Good'. It hardly matters as long as you read the description and look at the pictures and know exactly what you're getting.

In this volume, Jeremias suggests that the book of Amos was produced through various stages over time. While he does write from a critical perspective, his creativity offers a sensitivity to literary issues within the text that is often missing from critical work.
The Old Testament Library provides fresh and authoritative treatments of important aspects of Old Testament study through commentaries and general surveys. The contributors are scholars of international standing.

I am sorry that I cannot sell books to buyers in Germany or France, since the bureaucratic complications are far too complex for a small seller like me.
STANDARD DOMESTIC U.S. SHIPPING IS FREE. This applies even to heavy books, since I've included the cost of shipping (and insurance) while calculating the price.
Priority Shipping is generally $6.99 for the first book, $1 each additional book, but may be more if they are heavy, like (for instance) most art books.
Orders usually ship within 1 business day, always within 2.
Books are ALWAYS shipped either (a) in cardboard boxes (often repurposed from books I've bought) packed with crumpled paper, plastic peanuts, or bubble wrap, or (b) envelopes reinforced with cardboard. They are NEVER sent in thin plastic envelopes, soft padded flexible manila envelopes, or rattling around in a too-large cardboard box with no padding.
Books worth more than $20 or so are fully insured at my expense. For cheaper books, it's cheaper for me to accept the risk of an occasional loss.
