Item description from seller

A well-illustrated first edition copy of this title, in smart original binding. A lovely copy of this 1910 work in its original pictorial cloth binding, with striking colour illustration to front board. This work recounts and commemorates significant chapters in British Military history, as dramatically reconstructed during the Army Pageant performed between 20th June and 2nd July, 1910. A popular spectacle, this pageant saw 19 performances, and 2 additional public dress rehearsals, which school-children were invited to watch.Features a colour frontispiece, and 15 unnumbered monochrome and colour plates, in addition to charming monochrome vignette illustrations.Collated, complete.Final three plates (listed as two in the 'list of illustrations') misbound the opposite way round to how they are listed in the list of illustrations (i.e. the final plate listed is the penultimate plate, the penultimate plate listed is the final plate). Bound in original blue cloth pictorial boards. Externally, very smart. Occasional slight marks to boards. Rubbing to spine, and board extremities. Area of white spotting to rear board. Age toning to endpapers. Potential for weakness to hinges. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages and plates age toned, but otherwise clean, with the odd spot. Very Good Indeed. …
