The Book of Esther: Its Practical Lessons and Dramatic Scenes.

RALEIGH, ALEXANDER (1817-1880) Congregational minister. The Book of Esther: Its Practical Lessons and Dramatic Scenes. Edinburgh: Adam and Charles Black, 1880. 8vo. First edition. 259 pp. Original blue cloth covers with gilt title on spine and with gilt lines across front cover. Smart! Original dark endpapers clean and unmarked as applies to the crisp contents. A very good copy! "A refreshing study based on a literal interpretation of the text. Each character is analysed with 'insight approaching genius', to quote one reviewer, and the practical application of scripture to life is accomplished with rare skill. Excellent." - C.J. Barber.
