A series of samples of calligraphy for students in fine lettering from the acknowledged master of the craft.In publishers' red cloth with endpapers showing Johnston's blackboard lettering from lessons for students (which included Eric Gill.) The manuscript reproduced in this book was commissioned from Johnston in 1913 by Sydney Cockerell and presented by him to the Museum in 1959: texts relating to King David in Greek, Latin and English.in red and black letters in a variety of scripts. In nice condition with no faults to note. Bookplate of the historian of printing and lettering Justin Howes under the d/j turn in. Payment by credit card through ABE. Paypal accepted.
