Item description from seller

1951. First Edition. 281 pages. No dust jacket. This is an ex-Library book. In English. Dimensions: 22cm x 14.5cm x 3cm. Full green leather with blocked gilt lettering and decorative lining. Top edge also gilt. Has been rebound by St. Mary's College, Southampton. It contains numerous black and white diagrams throughout, showing the various processes surrounding bookbinding. Pages remain clean and bright, with firm binding. Occasional small pencil annotations. Fold out table at the back has a small tear at the end of a fold, otherwise is good. Minor foxing and tanning mainly to page edges and margins. College stamps to endpapers and some other pages, with a library ticket sleeve on the rear paste down. Boards are very nice, with minor wear to the edges. Some heavy tanning to the spine and areas around the board edges. There are a few marks and scratches, with a small dewy code written on the spine, but overall this book is an excellent example of the books own subject.
