Add to basket120 pages, softcover in illustrated thick wraps, 9.5" by 8.75". Introduction in Italian. Seminal early photo book by Italian contemporary photographers (and brothers) Enzo and Raffaello Bassotto, a photo essay on life in a working class borough on the outskirts of the city of Verona. The 83 full-page black and white photos explore community through portraiture that is direct and yet expressive, showing people in both interior and street settings. Wonderful and deceptively simple work firmly in a tradition of Italian Neorealist photography. My highest recommendation. Rare and collectible title. OCLC shows only TWO copies in American institutions. In very good condition overall - interior clean and bright, general age toning to cover, with light wear to edges.
