The first edition of this beautifully illustrated look at Boulogne in Northern France, by Captain Martin Hardie, with colour plates. The first edition of this work. With the front wrap of the dustwrapper loosely inserted. A collection of the drawings by Captain Martin Hardie in Boulogne in Northern France. Hardie came from an artistic family, and served as an officer in the army during WWI. Illustrated with a colour tipped-in frontispiece, tipped-in illustrator to the title page, and thirty plates, six of which are colour. Undated, dated from a copy on Copac held at the British Library. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's paper covered boards, with the front wrap of the dustwrapper loosely inserted. Externally, smart. A little discolouration to the spine. Light spots and marks to the boards. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Front wrap of the dustwrapper discoloured with spotting. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd scattered spot. Very Good Indeed.
