This G+ book is a likely first edition--the copyright page lists only the first three titles of this series, all published in 1908 and not the 1909 title. However, this is a format #2 book (format #1 had "Reilly & Britton Co." on the spine, and only the first two titles were so published). The exterior is square and reasonably clean, with moderately bumped head and heel of the spine and lightly bumped lower front corners, with minor fabric damage, no dings on edges and very little lower edge wear. Front cover images/lettering largely intact (see photo). Fore edge has a half dozen small light brown oval spots, none longer than 5mm. There is some faint pencil printing, 4 or 5 letters and a "7", on the lower back panel. The interior is clean and free of writing, stray marks, stains of any kind, and damaged pages; the hinges are strong and the paper is very flexible. Overall, a very nice copy of an uncommon series.
