Hardcover in Good+ condition, 16mo, pages: viii,(9)-109, 3 ads. Brown textured cloth, blind-stamped borders and publisher's cameo, spine titles in gilt, yellow end-papers, engraved frontis portrait with tissue, one additional plate with tissue, preface by "T.B." (Thomas Bulfinch); Light wear to spine ends, foxing, front free end-paper excised, prior owner notations in pencil on front paste-down and flyleaf; Bookseller accession no.: 14593. According to a doctoral dissertation by Marie Sally Cleary at UMass-Amherst (1982) Bulfinch was an advocate for and adoptive father (possibly not legally filed) of Matthew Edwards. Edwards is apparently buried in the Bulfinch family plot at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Boston.
