Properly described as VG-. The exterior has general wear but no overt damage: bumped head and heel of spine and corners, with only slight fabric damage; there is a slight lean, the front board has a very slight bow, there are a few random minor stains on rear board. The interior is clean, unstained, with strong hinges and paper that is lightly toned and a bit stiff--not brittle. Frontis + 8 is intact; the presence of a 1916 inscription on the FFEP strongly suggests that this is a first edition.
