Green binding with embossed gilt on red, fair/ good, looks like rebound 50- 100 years ago using the original titles to spine & front, Green very good except for small edge damage front, original embossed gilt on red, good/readable with rubbing. Contents mostly very good, clean & tight, a few pages with stress at spine, about 4 corner tip folding, does not have page i/ii front or rear adverts page 143/4, page 141/2 is miss-places and after Page 146. folding maps clean, India with 3 edge tears and edge folding, New York to St. Louis very good, Great Britain & Europe is a much larger map, looks complete, but torn into 3 separate parts with some miss-folding, some minor dirt to a edge of a few pages. A good early edition with over 600 pages, inc. illustrated adverts, with detailed details of local British railway companies inc. names of directors, detailed dates of lines/extensions, a/c's details etc., also to European, & Indian railway companies (many but not all as detailed). Also American Railways, though some U.S. Railways even more detailed, with income & expenditure in U.S $. also Havana, Jamaica & some Telegraph companies, also General Legislation/Parliament acts and lots more.1st edition, for year as details of a/c's, directors, railways & Legislation/Parliament acts changed from year to year, so no copy was the same as another.
