Large (80mm) medallion issued on the occasion of the donation of 139 priceless numismatic rarities from Howard Franklin Bowker's Chinese coin collection to the Shanghai Mint Museum. The medallion bears a bas relief portrait of Bowker (the obverse is the Shanghai Mint Company building). In 'As Issued' (new) condition in its sealed protective mylar holder within a custom hinged wooden box lined in red velvet and white satin, all protected in a matching box. Accompanied by its original numbered Certificate of Authenticity. Howard Franklin Bowker (1889-1970) was a numismatist and philatelist, collecting and specializing in Chinese coins, stamps and banknotes. He created the first bibliography of Western language publications on East Asian numismatics. Seller Inventory # 19935
