First published in French in 1890 under the title 'Principes de Dressage et D'Equitation'.Translated from the original French by M. H. Hayes.Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece and seventy monochrome illustrations, including vignettes, diagrams and twenty one monochrome plates. Collated complete.This equestrian work was written by James Fillis, a French horseman and riding master. This work provides a guide to horse riding, covering how to saddle and mount a horse, and a range of actions such as the demi-volte, canter and clearing a fence, and much more. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with a slight lean, bumping and slight rubbing to the extremities, and minor marks to the boards. Spotting and offsetting to the endpapers.
