Add to basketBRIDGE ITS PRINCIPLES AND RULES OF PLAY BY J.B. ELWELL 1903. I was very pleased to find a nice clean copy of this vintage book about Bridge. On offer here: Bridge-Its Principles and Rules of Play , by J.B. Elwell. This small hard cover book (4 ½ x 6 ½ inches, 136 pages) was published by Charles Scribner s Sons of New York dated 1903 and a probable First Edition (copyright 1902). The book is bound in green cloth with gilt titles on cover and spine and a paste-down color image of a card table with a bridge hand on the front cover. It includes illustrative hands and the Club Code of Bridge Laws adopted November, 1902. The endpapers are decorated with a nice pattern and the page edges are full gilt all-round. Condition: This book is in very good condition. There is a small white spot on the front cover and some light rubbing to the edges, corners and spine tips. The paste-down color picture has some edge wear including a small chip. Inside the pages are clean and bright throughout without any toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
