1987. First edition in a limited edition of 170 copies, of which this is number 140. 41pp. plus 1 page giving edition details. George Robert Gissing (1857-1903) was an English writer and novelist, probably best known as the author of The Nether World (1889), New Grub Street (1891) and The Odd Women (1893). This book contains letters he wrote to Edith Helen Sichel (1862-1914), an English author and sister of Walter Sichel, edited and with commentary by Pierre Coustillas. The book is bound in the original brown card wraps with a paper title label on the front cover. The book is in very good condition with some shelf wear on the covers and rubbing to the corners and spine ends. The contents are tight and clean with no inscription.
