This is a First Edition, 2nd printing stated, of Frank Buck's first book. The cover has a black tape mended spine panel. The corners are rubbed. The interior is unmarked and the photos are exceptional! 291 pages. See scan 2. These are Rhino horns secured by General Shum Shere on his Rhino Hunts in southeastern Nepal. A Chinese merchant travelled there to pay afortune for them "for medicinal purposes" EVEN then 95 yrs ago the Rhino tusks were sought after for any price. The reading is thrilling if you like the man vs beast confrontations e.g: When the escaped king cobra confronted him, Buck wrote, "for an instant, mind and body were numb. He stripped off the white duck jacket he wore over his bare skin and as the snake struck he lunged forward, threw himself with the coat in front of him upon it and hit the ground with a bang, with the cobra, trapped in the jacket under him.".
