A topographical poem of Bristol, published anonymously in 1833, a very scarce work. A very scarce topographical poem of Bristol, published anonymously in 1833.Rarely seen and with its delicate spine usually in the condition seen here.Dedicated to John Scandrett Harford, Esq., the owner of Blaise Castle located in Henbury.The poem is intended to praise the delights of Bristol and express admiration for the city.Printed locally by Rose and Son in Broadmead, Bristol.Containing the bookplate of Harold E. Matthews to the front pastedown.This copy came from the library at Julians Park, Hertfordshire, the previous home of Audrey Pleydell-Bouverie (1902-1968). She was an English socialite and through her mother was the illegitimate granddaughter of King Edward VII. Bound in quarter cloth with paper covered boards. Externally, front joint has failed and rear joint is strained but firm. Cloth to the spine is lifting, but attached by the rear joint. Bumping to the extremities. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, binding is loosening in places but firm. A few spots to the pages, but otherwise pages are clean. Good Only. Seller Inventory # 794J8
