About this Item
First American edition. Introduction by Hugh Walpole. Fine in near fine, price-clipped dustwrapper with a couple of small chips and some small internal repairs. Something of a bestseller, the autobiography of a Scottish diplomat posted to the Soviet Union, where his knowledge of Russian affairs was so acute that he was condemned to death by the Bolsheviks. Basis for the Michael Curtiz film featuring Leslie Howard. A relatively common title, in much nicer than usual condition. Seller Inventory # 33224
