Hard covers with original bindings including brown leather spines and corners, and marbled boards. Cover wear is confined to the spines apart from the detached rear board of 1842, each of the leather spines is completely or partly missing, but wear to the boards is quite minimal. Inside each front cover is a book plate - presented to Bath Public Reference Library by Sir Isaac Pitman, but none of the usual lending library labels, although there is taped white paper label on each spine with the year's date. The interiors are fine. Five volumes covering the years 1841 to 1845 in reasonably good condition.
