Handsomely bound with gilt titling to ribbed spine and indented gilt emblem and title to front, marbled end-papers, marbled edges. 9 x 7 inch. Still well bound with just some cracking starting to the leather hinges at top of spine. Interior in nice clean condition with only very occasional foxing, no names nor inscriptions, About 600pp. Each of the 7 years paginated separately with numerous plates not included in the pagination, any fold out plates still in original creases. The company was founded in Nov 1878 and these scientific reports cover seven years of trading. The company continued trading well into the 20th century under various guises, the head office Longridge House had to be demolished in 1997 after the IRA Manchester bombing severely damaged it.
