Minor edge and corner wear; no dj; lightly scuffed and scratched; corners are gently bumped and rubbed; some light shelf wear; ex-library with the usual library markings; overall a nice used copy! Brown boards with gilt lettering on the front board and spine. 169 informative and educational pages nicely enhanced by black and white photographs and illustrations! "We nowadays take it all too easily for granted that we know everything better and are more advanced than our forebears. As far as building with wood is concerned, and presumably in other domains also, this only holds true to a very modest extent. A brief review of the historical development of timber construction shows this quite clearly." Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
