Hardback, colour illustrated tipped in to upper board. 20.5 × 15cm, 78pp. This copy belonged to Roderick Gradidge with his library label to the front pastedown. Gradidge (1929?2000) was a British architect and writer on architecture, former Master of the Art Workers Guild and campaigner for a traditional architecture. He was a founding member of the Thirties Society (later to become the 20th Century Society) and a prominent in the Victorian Society. One aspect of his architectural work was as redesigning pubs, and his most famous included The Three Greyhounds in Soho, and The Markham Arms in Chelsea. He championed the work of Edwin Lutyens who at the time was considered an anachronism. An illustrated study of painter Edward Burne-Jones, with eight colour plates. Condition: Good condition. There is rubbing and bumping to the covers, light scattered foxing throughout and the pages have been roughly cut to the fore-edge. However, it remains in strong readable condition and with an interesting provenance. Seller Inventory # 015231
