About the Author
Geoffrey Schmidt's life stands a prime example of taking charge of life and directing it towards a path of self fulfillment. Prompted by his own success, Schmidt became passionate about sharing with others his empowering message that everyone has the opportunity to overcome their limitations, to break free of whatever is holding them back from taking action and to move their lives forward in the direction of realizing their true potential. In his book, The Busy Adult's Guide to Making College Happen!, Schmidt shares the guidelines and strategies he implemented, enabling him to move from working various jobs just to stay afloat, to realizing a successful and fulfilling career in finance. Speaking from his own personal experience, he clearly demonstrates that with a strong will and a belief that the average person has the power to take control over his or her own life, one can accomplish their dreams. As a busy adult himself, Schmidt enrolled at Northeastern Illinois University where he attended evening classes while working full time during the day. Though challenging, Schmidt uncovered many resources and strategies to stay motivated and continued to move himself toward the success he desired. Graduating with a bachelor's degree, with high honors, Schmidt continued his education, earning an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management where he made the Dean's List multiple times.
