Broadside. Illustrated. 5-5/8" x 3-1/2" The Cadets of Temperance was started in 1846 for boys that were too young to join the Sons of Temperance. By 1854, the Cadet of Temperance grew at rapid rates and had started to allow girls. Cadets were taught to discourage their parents from drinking and frowned upon tobacco and profanity. However, you did need parental consent to join as well as pay the monthly dues. As we see in this image, a little girl and little boy are pictured so we assume this was printed after 1854 when girls were allowed to join. A VG copy, some rubbing to edges, clean and bright. Single sheet, colored illustrations, blue and yellow lettering, now housed in a mylar sleeve. Seller Inventory # 45969
