Dust jacket soiled and foxed; large chip at spine head and front panel's upper left; long tear to front panel as well; other small chips to spine heel and flap fold ends; jacket design sticker affixed at bottom of front flap; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Gray cloth; staining/abrasion at spine head and adjacent board corners; slender band of staining/abrasion at boards' bottom edges and spine heel; gilt stamping to spine and front board remains bright. Text block edges foxed; small dark stain to top edge and to bottom edge. Foxing/toning to pale blue endpapers; two printer statement paper slips affixed to copyright page causing associated toned impressions to title page and half-title leaf; interior pages overall remain clean. Binding is firm. Uncommon monograph for British photographic portraitist Vivienne featuring over 200 b/w images of primarily British celebrities including politicians (Sir Winston Churchill, Clement Attlee - 1st Earl Attlee, Anthony Eden, etc.) with specific sections for leading figures in theatre, film, and ballet.
