This catalogue contains 199 works illustrated with 54 full-page engraved plates, and six double-page engraved plates. In each margin are penciled numerals indicating prices realized (in francs). On a front endpaper, there is a handwritten signature "Boussod Valadon & Cie New York." Boussod, Valadon and Cie was founded in 1884 by Leon Boussod (1826-1896) and his son-in-law Retie Valadon (1848-1921) with the backing of Adolphe Goupil and his son Albert. The Paris office specialized in Impressionism, under the influence of Theo van Gogh, handling works by Monet and others.
