1st edition. A Near Fine copy in Very Good dust jacket. Tall 8vo., 124 pp. Red cloth in tan dust jacket. The dj has moderate edge wear, is price-clipped and a slightly darkened spine. The dj is now protected in a mylar sleeve. The Encyclopédie is most famous for representing the thought of the Enlightenment. According to Denis Diderot in the article "Encyclopédie", the Encyclopédie's aim was "to change the way people think" and for people to be able to inform themselves and to know things.
