1st edn., 224pp, green cloth lettered in gilt at spine, coloured lettered dustwrapper, declared by the author as not biography of Admiral Wilhelm Canaris, the Chief of Military Intelligence in the Third Reich, but a comprehensive investigation into the characater of this complex political man, relieved of command in February 1944 and implicated in the Stauffenburg assassination attempt in July 1944, he was arrested and eventually hanged by the SS in April 1945, lightly rubbed at tips, edges tanned and lightly foxed, ink name front pastedown, partial tanning to free endpapers, dustwrapper: rubbed with short nicks at folds, repaired to reverse, lightly soiled, very good in a very good dustwrapper,
