No date but 1938. ***Very good in royal blue boards with gilt titles and illustration to spine, and gilt tiles and inserted colour-illustrated panel to front board. Colour-illustrated front and rear free endpapers and pastedowns. Illustrated throughout with black and white line illustrations, sixteen pages of sepia photogravure inserts and four full-page colour plates, all present as called for. Edges of boards slightly rubbed. Bottom of front and rear panels surface marked. Small split to outer cloth of bottom of rear board. Spine tight. No foxing. Very slight split at the hinge at the top of the title-page. One crossword partially filled in, otherwise no writing or inscriptions - contents clean. No dustwrapper, as issued. ***254mm x 184mm. 352 pages. ***Interesting historical illustrations: 'Special Photogravure inserts of four-pages: such as facing page 48: round the Queen Mary; facing page 112 showing four-page sepia illustrations and photographs of 'London to Paris without leaving your train': the ferry, the train, The Coronation Scott - L.M.S. Streamlined Record Breaker, a sectional view of the G.W.R. latest type of Diesel rail-car. For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging materials; any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only; for the UK, our standard rate is for first class, and the priority rate includes tracked (signed for) delivery; for International sales, our standard rate is for Airmail delivery, and the priority rate is for tracked (International signed for) delivery. We would prefer that you choose the priority rate (tracked option) for higher value books of say �50 or more. Please note that we will always reduce shipping fees where appropriate e.g. for smaller (lighter) books when we accept your order.
