Englewood Cliffs, N.J.: Prentice-Hall, (1974). First edition, first printing. First printing number code sequence 10 through 1 to the copyright page, $7.95 printed price to the jacket's flap. First of three mysteries featuring part-time student and full-time Buxford police Lieutenant Guy Silvestri in Boston's suburb town. Rennert's Silvestri series Book #2 was shortlisted for an Edgar Award. Former owner's bookplate to the inside front cover, else very nearly fine, square and firm in black linen with white and blue embossed titles to the spine, sewn binding, brick-auburn end-papers; in a near fine dust jacket with very short creased tears to the upper and lower spine edges; original printed $3.75 price still intact to the front inner flap. The jacket will be placed in a quality Brodart brand, clear, removable protective sleeve, after photographing for this entry.
