Large Octavo; in pebbled grey cloth with decoration and titling in gilt; xii, [13], 14-511 including the Index and the Index to the Appendix; with illustrations, maps and portraits; the front end paper and first blank leaf are loose but holding; wear to the corners and a small stain on the upper board, but overall a reasonably bright and solid First Edition copy.~~While the Nevis Bibliography states that this account is "heavily embellished" but acknowledges that it "nevertheless contains personal observations and unique illustrations." (Howes W-498; Dornbusch II, 1302; Nevins I, 179). Very Good binding.
