CLEVELAND ORCHESTRA 50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION 1967 R.C. MARSH 1ST LIMITED SLIPCASE. I am pleased to be able to offer a very nice, presentation copy of the First Printing of a lovely book titled: The Cleveland Orchestra, by Robert C. Marsh. This large hard cover book (8 ½ x 11 ¼ inches, 205 pages) was published by the World Publishing Company of Cleveland and New York, dated 1967 and the First Printing (so stated). This book was issued on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Orchestra and is a special presentation issue, limited and numbered, with a paste-down label related to its presentation to the previous owner. The book is bound in marbled dark green paper-covered boards with a quarter spine in mustard color and with gilt titles on the spine. The book is contained in a sturdy slipcase papered with the same paper as the book s covers. The book is very well illustrated with b&w photos of historical moments in the life of the Orchestra. Hard to find in this condition, scarce in any condition. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The slipcase shows some very minor signs of wear, essentially some bumping to the edges but no splitting or paper loss. The hard covers are clean and bright, unblemished and unbumped although the gilt titles on the spine seem a bit muted to me. Inside, the book is unmarked except for the presentation bookplate on the front endpaper. The interior is clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
