First edition. In the first-issue black cloth binding and first-issue dust jacket with the wider flaps. Set in a not-so-distant future society with a culture of extreme youth rebellion and violence. Basis for the 1971 movie (reportedly something Burgess was none to happy about as it was perceived to glorify rape and violence). On Time Magazine's list of the 100 best English-language novels written since 1923 and named by Modern Library and its readers as one of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century. Near fine to fine with only minor shelf wear; in near fine, price-clipped dust jacket with mild toning to spine, touch of light rubbing to spine ends and corners, and one small tear internally mended with archival tape. At present it is by appointment only and housed in the home of the Ahearn's eldest daughter, Beth Ahearn Fisher, who is carrying on the family bookselling tradition.
