Features a Preface and seven essays (the latter being first published as columns in the Jasper, Alabama newspaper Daily Mountain Eagle) by attorney, historian, and author Carl Atwood Elliott (1913-1999) who served eight terms in the U.S. House of Representatives from Alabama's northwestern 7th Congressional District from January 1949 to January 1965.
