From the flap of the dust jacket: Louis Charles McClure made a career of photographing throughout Colorado and today his work provides a priceless record of life from the close of the last century through the 1920 s.Whether photographing cowboys on the range, miners deep underground or a mighty locomotive struggling to crest a high pass, McClure produced consistently superb photos displaying a sense of artistry seldom surpassed. On these pages are presented a choice selection of his work drawn from more than 4000 glass plate negatives in the collection now preserved at the Western History Department of the Denver Public Library. I am very pleased to be able to offer a First Edition/First Printing of: Photo by McClure The Railroad Cityscape and Landscape Photographs of L.C. McClure by William C. and Elizabeth B. Jones. This large sized oblong hard cover book (10 ¼ x 8 ½ inches 264 pages) was published by Pruett Publishing of Boulder Colorado dated 1983 and the First Printing of the First Edition. As expected, the book features 300 of McClure s photos in black & white. The book is bound in slate gray boards with silver gilt titles on the spine and protected by a pictorial dust jacket. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket shows some wear particularly on the edges which include some small tears and chips and some staining probably from tobacco smoke on the inside (but without any remaining odor). The hard covers are pristine without blemish or bump. Inside the book is unmarked and the pages are clean and bright throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. Shipping terms
All books will be carefully packaged, typically in plastic, with bubble-wrap padding and cardboard protection. Books will be quickly shipped, usually within one business day of completion of the transaction. This seller is mother tongue English speaker but can understand and respond in Spanish (fluent), French (good) and Italian (fair) having lived in countries where these languages are spoken.
Within the United States, Media Mail thru the U.S. Postal System will be the default shipping method. Buyers may specify that they wish to use an alternative method, such as Priority Mail. For International and Canadian buyers, shipments will be sent via International First Class Mail if they are within the 4 lb weight limit for that postal category. Beyond that, International Priority mail would be the probable option.
