This 306 pp. novel became a major seller, as it was made into a successful movie that starred Tom Selleck (before he became famous) in one of his earliest screen appearances -- as a dead person. The thriller was diabolically written with the inside medical information that only a Doctor would know, by a practicing Ophthalmologist & clinical instructor at Harvard Medical school. This copy is a STATED FIRST EDITION of the author's 2nd book. It is slightly cocked and had its first blank flyleaf neatly removed, but is otherwise unmarked and VERY GOOD +. The jacket is fully intact, with its cover price of $8.95, on the front flap, but it does show corner wear, a closed 1/2" slit on the front bottom edge and a brown 1" stain on the rear top edge.
