8vo. 43, [1]pp. Disbound pamphlet no wraps. Fore and lower margins of title and preliminary leaves toned. Ink spot on title. A number of marginal notes and corrections in pencil and ink. This appears to be a proof copy corrected by Bishop McIlvaine. Paper toned, p. 17-18 with a short closed tear at top inner margin. Good. Concerns differences between the two men on liturgical practices, parish governance, and doctrinal boundaries within the diocese. Bishop McIlvaine was against the ritualistic High Church practices associated with the Catholic church that Rev. Bolles championed. [Diocese of Ohio – Correspondence].
