(PERU) Presumed 1st edition ( the books are still in shrinkwrap). New in shrinkwrap in about Fine slipcase with a hint of rubbing to panel gloss. Two hardcover books with dust jackets in slipcase. Each book is about 200pp. The text is in Spanish and in English (I believe). The International Potato Center (CIP) celebrates 50 years of work in the Andes. Five decades of traveling the mountains, hand in hand with farmers and researchers, contributed to science in pursuit of global food security. In 1971, they took on the challenge of conserving the diversity of crops,roots and tubers of the region for future generations. Today, CIP holds the world's largest collection of potatoes, ocas, achiras, and ahipas, among other Andean crops. In doing so, they work with hundreds of Andean communities to preserve the diversity of the planet's edible species. The diversity in these mountains remains alive, vibrant, and continually adapting to changing conditions.
