Hortonwas born in tiny Elsa, Illinois in 1893. Rev. Horton served in Philadelphia, and at the Edgewater neighborhood, ending at the Church of The Redeemer. With passages from the memorial address for him. "While high within the sky a crescent moon / Breaks far its glitter into fragments on the lake" - / Declining day is fair! - / The poets doubt which is the fairer, dawn or eve.".
