1st printing. viii,327pp. + [17]pp.pp. 16 mo in original pictorial flexible red cloth with endpaper ads. Includes numerous maps, plates and illustrations and 4 folding maps in rear pocket. Spine slightly sunned. Fine condition. Charles G.D. Roberts (1860-1943), was a Professor of English Literature in King's College, Windsor, N.S. as well as an accomplished writer of fiction and poetry, and also editor of the Canadian Who's Who and the Standard Dictionary of Canadian Biographies. He started working on the Appleton guide-books in 1891. Cover title: "Appleton's Canadian Guide Book.".
