First edition. Fine cloth-bound hardcover with light rubbing to the heel and bottom tips in a Fine dust jacket with a hint of rubbing at the tips. A very nice copy. Images of life in Cape Town from the archives of The Argus, Cape Town's oldest newspaper, with sports, industry, pretty women, ships and sailing, disasters, the arts, animals, "lighter moments," the armed forces, etc. Curiously, there appear to be very few blacks in Cape Town. Edited with text by Les Hammond and John Yeld; introduction by Madeline van Biljon. 199 pages; profusely illustrated with b&w photos; 10.25 x 13 inches.
