First edition. Illustrated in color by Andre Castaigne. Small ink number on the front pastedown, still easily fine in very good plus dustwrapper with a few small nicks and some overall soiling. Fancy rug merchant, afraid of the opposite sex, looks for love. Filmed in 1915 as the first feature film by cinema pioneer "Colonel" William Selig, featuring two Selig serial mainstays: Kathlyn Williams, the first Queen of the Serials, and wild animals from Selig's personal zoo.
